Talking about making an entrance I took my first class in the cake world. Early Wednesday morning, (really early in the morning) I was headed to New York City for the first time on my own to the French Culinary Institute to take my first class in sugar flowers with non other than the master himself Ron-Ben Israel! Well, anybody in this cake world knows the beautiful creations of Ron-Ben Israel. Internationally known for his beautiful sugar flowers and attention to detail on his cakes. I had to travel over 4 1/2 hours the first day just to get there that first day. The other days were not so long just 3 hrs. to go to NY and another 3 hrs. to get back home.
I was blessed to get him as a teacher. The French Culinary Institute was of grade A and truly made me think of wanting to enroll in their professional course. Then I thought ” 6 hrs. of travel every day? Hmmm….maybe NOT!
Well, these are some of the awesome flowers he showed us to create:

And then there was the Cattleya Orchids

The Sweetpeas:

And last but, not least important “The Rose
So, amazing right! Ok, I will now try this on my own and see how it goes without him next to me!
And the best part of it all were all the new friends I made during class!
Thx. for everything!
